in the Church of St John the Baptist, Burford at 7.30 p.m.
The Burford Singers will be performing Mendelssohn’s ever-popular oratorio for the first time since 2002.
Elijah dramatically depicts scenes from the life of the prophet Elijah as narrated in the Old Testament. It is the culmination of Mendelssohn’s fascination with the oratorios of Bach and Handel, and was first performed in Birmingham in 1846.
